sometimes a fuse that provides supplementary (non-branch circuit) overcurrent protection and

Is this an acceptable result and termination of the test? J/ o0 m$ O3 I; Q& D# k5 \& h
APPLICATION GUIDELINE:! e4 n0 t# p, q6 h; A S6 s4 I
A fuse that bursts is not an acceptable result and termination of a test. If a fuse bursts during
- ]2 A/ d4 a0 X0 R( afault testing per sub-clause 5.3, it does not have adequate breaking (rupturing) capacity.
0 r3 s/ z0 z" `1 p9 ?Therefore, such a fuse should be replaced by the manufacturer with another fuse having high
" c* l" a" A4 ?breaking capacity. This consideration applies to fuses complying with both IEC 60127 and UL1 U5 }/ J- q8 W p$ g) x
248-14.
; i5 ?/ |7 ?/ b. LPlacement of heat shrink or similar tubing over the fuse assembly is not a suitable solution to5 P/ F& x3 s9 [ F# z
wholly mitigate potential hazards associated with a bursting fuse. |
