# E& Q& K4 P' `# Rare defined as components consisting of two or more wires joined
% \( F; v9 j2 s9 ]: B9 o6 g4 melectrically and/or mechanically, and may include connectors, plugs,
5 w1 l* I8 g- z, o4 [strain reliefs, splices, etc. When assembled at an off-site location,/ \, ^; t; M- T
traceability for components used to construct a wiring harness is. f2 J5 c/ @) X# w$ ^
not possible at an end-product factory location. This program can# f+ T9 J4 K5 t" |, E9 u
be used to provide this traceability. Each wiring harness is normally' M1 D0 V5 F9 i) E
constructed in accordance with a harness diagram and is generally8 x3 N: O- i- n& @& \
designed for a specific application that is indicated on a diagram) c) r, ?4 }) E& R+ s. B
or carton marking. These wiring harnesses are not intended for) N' ?! X+ ]7 Y' Y% ^( @6 @" \
field installation. An assembly consisting solely of a cord set, power8 N) l6 E$ n0 m5 V% s% {' X
supply cord or power supply cord attached to an appliance such as7 u5 ]0 m6 Y& I; m& X/ n' u) r
a motor is not eligible for coverage under this program.

An off-site fabricator assembles a wiring harness in accordance with8 @; y# D" B7 Y/ Z; a1 k7 V; r2 q
a harness diagram, print or other specification from an end-product0 `7 E# R0 F8 c. p9 n) {+ M1 T$ E
manufacturer that details construction elements and components
, m5 ?/ y4 R4 [" Hto be used in assembling a harness. A harness manufacturer1 w% s+ C: k2 g
will assemble a harness in accordance with these specifications1 Y' f. Q2 j; }( z9 v7 e
and, provided that a wiring harness is in compliance with these
' F5 [: C/ v4 f0 ~; Z ~* jspecifications, it may be shipped with the UL Mark. Traceability for3 o8 @& i" N# E
these construction elements is further determined at an end-product
