installed components at an end-product manufacturing facility. They
, }3 w. _# D- m" {are defined as components consisting of two or more wires joined; Y/ z' n ?/ s
electrically and/or mechanically, and may include connectors, plugs, K# V: ?3 O Z
strain reliefs, splices, etc. When assembled at an off-site location,
' E, g, u* J" _traceability for components used to construct a wiring harness is
_, k; j* S0 e* v; `& v( Wnot possible at an end-product factory location. This program can
. {$ q4 G% S, f) F* H2 y4 i* K- ebe used to provide this traceability. Each wiring harness is normally) O; m, J1 o, H: H
constructed in accordance with a harness diagram and is generally
0 Q+ e8 q7 a" Q0 o% X- kdesigned for a specific application that is indicated on a diagram9 Q/ L. l% n4 k5 z
or carton marking. These wiring harnesses are not intended for
8 g! J; M3 W# _" V! f! G, W+ qfield installation. An assembly consisting solely of a cord set, power
|6 m% D, a; u! P/ G5 osupply cord or power supply cord attached to an appliance such as
$ j$ y. x4 }7 y8 i( R% Y% L" i ra motor is not eligible for coverage under this program.

. d4 N7 X, r& @) Y, I# {An off-site fabricator assembles a wiring harness in accordance with
# h* ~* K1 |% n- ] }' Ta harness diagram, print or other specification from an end-product
9 V- w, m; M+ q7 N" l2 U+ z5 Hmanufacturer that details construction elements and components
; G# X6 ^4 w& f5 q9 P6 k, G. ~- d2 Lto be used in assembling a harness. A harness manufacturer
, S; Y# \# T% ?( u) p$ @* |will assemble a harness in accordance with these specifications
7 y! {0 U$ H/ h+ i8 x' tand, provided that a wiring harness is in compliance with these
