installed components at an end-product manufacturing facility. They$ J9 Q7 `+ b3 m9 a
are defined as components consisting of two or more wires joined
: d6 Z- d( S" ~& a6 @& melectrically and/or mechanically, and may include connectors, plugs,
& A5 ?& N$ ]& Z! X0 Hstrain reliefs, splices, etc. When assembled at an off-site location,
' x4 S3 n$ Q& K- Atraceability for components used to construct a wiring harness is
$ P L: Q5 j2 z" L' m- z1 ]not possible at an end-product factory location. This program can. J/ Y0 W) X/ @1 r* D0 g
be used to provide this traceability. Each wiring harness is normally4 D! D/ ~. [8 R- [5 l, k
constructed in accordance with a harness diagram and is generally: \0 ^* G" W8 l# F- A
designed for a specific application that is indicated on a diagram
& W, }; l4 N, J/ L5 r c& }1 Dor carton marking. These wiring harnesses are not intended for
3 i3 r7 D5 U' U" Z* g) h' Rfield installation. An assembly consisting solely of a cord set, power5 x! ?# D% Z/ _0 {. d$ k2 k
supply cord or power supply cord attached to an appliance such as8 S h- R- p2 f" V F
a motor is not eligible for coverage under this program.

+ E- p3 U, k( k! Y' N& y1 W/ w$ G' [An off-site fabricator assembles a wiring harness in accordance with
) B0 Z* m' e" ua harness diagram, print or other specification from an end-product
8 {; u! |8 B- P; y* z7 J [; zmanufacturer that details construction elements and components
. K" D8 S3 \$ m5 ?7 N% b0 Yto be used in assembling a harness. A harness manufacturer
" ?' V% y) |8 wwill assemble a harness in accordance with these specifications& N6 {% m/ d. E; E; k
and, provided that a wiring harness is in compliance with these( w! ^- Y5 m2 q6 B5 c& H$ n3 O
specifications, it may be shipped with the UL Mark. Traceability for( [" h$ _1 \5 O- S2 l! q, H% w
these construction elements is further determined at an end-product
