installed components at an end-product manufacturing facility. They
, R1 Z+ F) d' Hare defined as components consisting of two or more wires joined
' Q: H! h( E9 gelectrically and/or mechanically, and may include connectors, plugs,) A" m. X E) h# ?# a6 Q9 y' m/ ^" B
strain reliefs, splices, etc. When assembled at an off-site location,
% j) Z5 \6 q5 d! m; t6 Qtraceability for components used to construct a wiring harness is
+ A% V, n+ b+ k& ~6 b; Z$ Q- b8 [) Lnot possible at an end-product factory location. This program can
! r3 f* ?' H7 Jbe used to provide this traceability. Each wiring harness is normally
! \" l1 R" i. O9 a1 @5 \constructed in accordance with a harness diagram and is generally
0 ]4 v& a* t! d" |& X* g+ }) O. p) ndesigned for a specific application that is indicated on a diagram( b$ t$ I7 D1 h. M, V& y
or carton marking. These wiring harnesses are not intended for1 a+ l( a, Z+ S. l! H6 u6 v; g/ y2 U
field installation. An assembly consisting solely of a cord set, power" w( D; ^/ y- t; b9 Y) U, ]
supply cord or power supply cord attached to an appliance such as% i' L! Q- f" h/ N4 @' ]0 F
a motor is not eligible for coverage under this program.

An off-site fabricator assembles a wiring harness in accordance with
) n+ a. r; y! g7 O3 y' `a harness diagram, print or other specification from an end-product. K+ M: e" G* s8 V
manufacturer that details construction elements and components: m2 l- R, F/ R! c
to be used in assembling a harness. A harness manufacturer
& P8 g+ Z' n% m. O, {. |" e- Vwill assemble a harness in accordance with these specifications
: H* Z' V" h& U3 Jand, provided that a wiring harness is in compliance with these
; j/ r2 H. n7 B! ^! m$ D2 ]5 Q7 Bspecifications, it may be shipped with the UL Mark. Traceability for
. u# c% R6 n! g7 K- g' v. l2 Bthese construction elements is further determined at an end-product y9 X; u! W& D5 _9 Q' x& d# T
manufacturing location and involves verifying that these features
/ W$ E. D, u8 R& Vcomply with an end-product Follow-Up Services procedure.
