certain provisions of subsection 14(a) of

(‘‘CPSA’’) as amended by section 102(a)

Public Law 110–314. Specifically, the0 j* y3 s. G, P7 E; E Q5 Z
Commission is staying certain of the
8 t" b. Q0 i- q# b% Krequirements of paragraphs 14(a)(1), (2),
5 Q( K! T& j9 g! O: F; n3 Yand (3) that otherwise require testing
( F: x6 M p; |+ kand issuance of certificates of
[0 J( z- t8 n3 mcompliance by manufacturers, including$ m! z Z# d2 |7 V/ r
importers, of products subject to an: N5 w: j/ [- `% Z1 e
applicable consumer product safety rule

other Act enforced by the Commission.

(1) Those where testing and

14(a) of the CPSA prior to enactment of

pacifiers (effective for products

• Small parts (effective for products
2 ?" z" ~$ M( A3 ` Y, r0 h' Bmanufactured after February 15, 2009),3 d, Z/ G0 N* u. p

• Metal components of children’s1 I7 O+ @* w# w5 \, i+ l6 {3 w9 f
metal jewelry (effective for products

(4) The certifications required due to3 n6 M8 G( k6 N! r
certain requirements of the Virginia
! F8 `2 ]9 B) [% M* [1 D9 SGraeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act
7 Y4 m, ?# f& r" ~( J) a5 Gbeing defined as consumer product
+ R" a0 Q: K! lsafety ‘‘rules;’’ and8 E5 h- S/ D; ~5 f# E6 p
(5) The certifications of compliance- x) N) s) Y3 _1 n' c
required for ATVs in section 42(a)(2) of
' \) f6 p3 `8 f2 J; X6 @5 ~; C1 \the CPSA which were added by CPSIA;% t3 J2 Z0 y9 ^7 S( e
and
1 z" O: j! S* ]- |0 i. s(6) Any voluntary guarantees. V8 g3 A2 c% p$ W3 N
provided for in the Flammable Fabrics
0 x; c+ r; l; C7 ?8 w( H) i; YAct (‘‘FFA’’) or otherwise (to the extent0 u+ }7 @; w. ^4 |0 i% @* Z
a guarantor wishes to issue one).
0 I0 b1 M$ i) ^This stay will remain in effect until* o" Z" `' [! j& W, ?7 j! n
February 10, 2010, at which time the
: D& ^' ~( q" Y0 i1 ]3 wCommission will vote to terminate the4 X3 f# u- v; I7 h8 y; K& ]6 ^' {
stay. This stay does not alter or; ?2 U4 Q v# c- P
postpone the requirement that all; `' |& Y2 V' R& A4 h5 S: _
products meet applicable consumer% t0 A: O7 `2 W! a- L
