part, the complete appliance is classified as a class I appliance or class II appliance in+ ?) [* o/ l0 E$ |

7 Marking and instructions
/ U- b7 y# Q3 k' d- H8 b0 I7.1 Replace the last dashed item in the first paragraph by the following:; Y, J/ u' f6 X$ f5 x
– symbol IEC 60417-5180 (2003-02), for class III appliances. This marking is not
+ [0 v$ u- C5 @, ?necessary for appliances operated only by batteries (primary batteries or secondary
6 N. q$ m0 k" c- I! B' kbatteries recharged outside of the appliance) or appliances powered by rechargeable) ^* U  E$ [0 t; Z6 k5 D' \0 S' i
batteries recharged in the appliance.

7.12.9 For each language, the instructions specified in 7.12 and from 7.12.1 to 7.12.8 shall0 r5 v  z4 Y  r  z
appear together before any other instructions supplied with the appliance. Alternatively, these8 Z' W' o6 R' ]- \8 }: ?0 c( b
instructions may be supplied with the appliance separately from any functional use booklet.
7 Y2 q) X3 V9 v3 u' m- @They may follow the description of the appliance that identifies parts, or follow the6 Z" I5 z  @: B3 _$ z+ s
drawings/sketches common to the languages of the instructions.9 u& [5 b2 n1 _( o' @- u* y
In addition, instructions shall also be available in an alternative format such as on a website

3 \- m8 {8 Y: uCountries that do not use the Latin alphabet need to specify the minimum size of the script to

Unless contrasting colours are used, moulded in, engraved, or stamped markings shall be

for 15 s with a piece of cloth soaked with water and again for 15 s with a piece of cloth# N, h3 |" L/ P6 u; X
soaked with petroleum spirit. The petroleum spirit to be used for the test is aliphatic solvent8 V5 K! Z2 F- ?
hexane.
4 o- ?- l# L) A3 r2 A- @! T2 v8 Protection against access to live parts
% N$ M5 }. X" ~2 Z; |8.1.3 Replace the note by the following.; j9 c, m* ~5 r# P
If a single switching action is obtained by a switching device, the switching device shall0 n6 b# C; L1 L; X
provide full disconnection and the clearances for full disconnection specified in 20.1.5.3 of! a1 N( Q" \; |; t
IEC 61058-1:2000 shall be obtained from Table 22 of IEC 61058-1:2000 using the next higher) o# c/ D! n5 D5 D( W3 U4 `
step for rated impulse withstand voltage.
; w9 Q' a' d/ \For appliances provided with a supply cord and without a switching device in their supply0 n1 x( s! k" T' ~. w0 D3 {
circuit, a single switching action may be obtained by the withdrawal of the plug from a socketoutlet.6 W$ s; B+ z8 e# L
Compliance is checked by inspection and by manual test.% w$ D- b: P# i, B1 J1 S
13 Leakage current and electric strength at operating temperature
2 k: k" M: Z! V3 A& w2 U13.2 Replace the first paragraph by the following:' l9 B1 H" z/ A
The leakage current is measured by means of the circuit described in Figure 4 of
2 d$ e; y6 Q8 YIEC 60990:1999. For class 0I appliances and class I appliances, except parts of class II2 k( R) n5 c8 |5 n3 j
construction, C may be replaced by a low impedance ammeter responding to the rated# X4 u  }: |$ H' _4 f
frequency of the appliance.& M) @( _( g. e2 S$ b* Z# X( X
19 Abnormal operation3 }  D( r: p  |& w$ z- q
19.1 Add the following to the penultimate paragraph of the test specification:
0 F) {! `# W9 \( _If the control performs more than one function, only that aspect of the control under
  v2 k9 |# z7 |' b9 \8 s0 Yconsideration is rendered inoperative. Other functions of the control may continue to operate" E) v& X& J* O$ i" N
normally.
1 d# b; H$ r3 g! a19.7 In the third paragraph of the test specification, replace “class P2” by “class S2 or S3”.
  |  M6 y: ^0 }6 d5 l+ h. U19.11.3 Replace the text of the test specification but not the note, by the following.
5 [3 w/ D2 u, l1 x6 }7 r6 aIf the appliance incorporates a protective electronic circuit that operates to ensure/ }( |1 C" Q" W, Q
compliance with Clause 19, the appliance is tested as follows:& s; @9 ?7 y1 o0 g& s
A fault as indicated in a) to g) of 19.11.2 shall be incorporated in the protective electronic
. P$ T3 X4 s  x1 j+ `( Fcircuit either before the appliance is started or at any point in time after the appliance is7 m8 a! p5 }; P; C
started so that the most unfavourable conditions of the test are applied.% _/ x- }/ u4 d  f& d! R% l$ ]
If the appliance is able to operate after the fault in the protective electronic circuit is0 W; S" _5 l, k; K- n: ?: {
incorporated, then the appliance is further tested as follows.
* _5 N5 _/ P' A4 L. u4 jFor appliances for continuous operation the appliance is operated until steady conditions are4 t* j3 g  l7 {8 v3 |8 y; ^5 L
reached. Then the relevant test of Clause 19 is repeated.2 Q% |1 j  D0 m& d
Other appliances are operated for one cycle of operation. Then the relevant test of Clause 19
3 B8 ^- u8 ~& u( n& pis repeated.
+ k( `# x6 X9 o/ |19.11.4.2 Replace the test specification but not the note, by the following:
" [1 ]: @- |7 N% p" N& @6 mThe appliance is subjected to radiated fields in accordance with IEC 61000-4-3.

– 80 MHz to 1 000 MHz, test level 3;
/ A1 }2 F' n6 f. `0 z– 1,4 GHz to 2,0 GHz, test level 3;" {) t; R% B7 ^& `' ~2 r1 ^% B
– 2,0 GHz to 2,7 GHz, test level 2.
