! f! i& w! J$ S) h- uIf an appliance consists of a part of class III construction and a detachable power supply
2 B% {$ G1 m& M8 I* Ypart, the complete appliance is classified as a class I appliance or class II appliance in" n. w7 J9 u4 E: b
accordance with the classification applicable to its detachable power supply part.6 R* E4 q2 T9 B* n% |  a' U) f: P
7 Marking and instructions
, O7 X5 u0 l- R: v% n1 {7.1 Replace the last dashed item in the first paragraph by the following:
" H3 `& i8 g! _$ S8 r& J/ F! W– symbol IEC 60417-5180 (2003-02), for class III appliances. This marking is not+ X/ n, R/ b1 l# f
necessary for appliances operated only by batteries (primary batteries or secondary

7.14 Add the following as new second paragraph to the requirement:

NOTE A height of 3,5 mm is similar to Arial 14 pt, 3,0 mm is similar to 12 pt Arial and 2,0 mm is similar to 8 pt) d. j' U1 P+ e) A0 S
Arial. Other typefaces might differ in the pt value.
4 ], U+ w6 x8 ?3 k  YUppercase letter of the text explaining the signal word shall be no smaller than 1,6 mm, with

8.1.3 Replace the note by the following.

13 Leakage current and electric strength at operating temperature" |/ {7 S* i+ B1 X. R
13.2 Replace the first paragraph by the following:2 @8 \7 W1 W0 Q+ G2 O8 u  z
The leakage current is measured by means of the circuit described in Figure 4 of
# t' B3 A- Z0 G; |. m+ B1 P; Y) mIEC 60990:1999. For class 0I appliances and class I appliances, except parts of class II- o6 U7 m5 G; N1 ^- M
construction, C may be replaced by a low impedance ammeter responding to the rated
' e0 N. y- S& d1 f% vfrequency of the appliance.
9 G. |8 i! k4 w7 N1 N, D9 [19 Abnormal operation: q( a- T; z" e9 A) U8 i
19.1 Add the following to the penultimate paragraph of the test specification:6 O8 Y. G: k6 T
If the control performs more than one function, only that aspect of the control under0 A/ y* \3 A/ }( P
consideration is rendered inoperative. Other functions of the control may continue to operate
; G4 `3 e. i5 X) Y1 \. bnormally.# g1 m. q0 P9 h1 i; o
19.7 In the third paragraph of the test specification, replace “class P2” by “class S2 or S3”.! {! A& e& y) {# q6 d; ]
19.11.3 Replace the text of the test specification but not the note, by the following.
0 d1 s/ D7 t  m  |! A& y6 Y1 kIf the appliance incorporates a protective electronic circuit that operates to ensure
8 u, t5 l% N! b1 \, b" @: z9 Rcompliance with Clause 19, the appliance is tested as follows:
9 y# g9 w/ [( u" V' G2 dA fault as indicated in a) to g) of 19.11.2 shall be incorporated in the protective electronic5 M% N: J# B. E& v# w3 C
circuit either before the appliance is started or at any point in time after the appliance is
0 z7 k  n( g" ]% V$ n0 j' Kstarted so that the most unfavourable conditions of the test are applied.
2 N/ `8 q) h* S: ?3 i/ ~If the appliance is able to operate after the fault in the protective electronic circuit is
$ R$ M+ q: n- K. ?+ k& Hincorporated, then the appliance is further tested as follows.
0 r* ~0 I8 M& a% i& v0 ^. r, TFor appliances for continuous operation the appliance is operated until steady conditions are6 F/ \4 M0 Q* K6 D/ G  u8 B
reached. Then the relevant test of Clause 19 is repeated.
0 U4 R- @5 C" _: A7 O( F8 K; jOther appliances are operated for one cycle of operation. Then the relevant test of Clause 19# M3 z0 n4 h) O8 g" O& X$ E6 k+ E
is repeated.9 ~- @/ r6 O8 H) o
19.11.4.2 Replace the test specification but not the note, by the following:* X) b2 ~! I5 e: C5 ^0 @7 N
The appliance is subjected to radiated fields in accordance with IEC 61000-4-3.
; m7 H) r1 b$ v2 H' \The frequency ranges tested shall be:
/ I3 w5 u) q/ _– 80 MHz to 1 000 MHz, test level 3;9 J( s4 H& c4 r# V3 w5 q
– 1,4 GHz to 2,0 GHz, test level 3;; p* p* d1 S$ G+ k- Q) w8 s
– 2,0 GHz to 2,7 GHz, test level 2.
