as Operational or Basic insulation when the capacitors are used in circuits compatible with their
. X0 ^& U+ F0 ?, e4 oratings. Therefore, these components do not need to be provided with an additional, definable insulation level, such as Recognized Component – Tubing, when adequate clearances are not

Strength Test of 2000 V rms between live parts and case. Y1 capacitors are subjected to a 40003 k, T5 x; H- v6 N6 N9 ^
V test. (Y4 are only subjected to a 900 V test).
) T! ~+ }3 s) o5 J$ U& R2 O' {For Recognized Component FOWX2 capacitors, UL 1414 now covers X1, Y1 and Y2 capacitors,, J4 ~# J0 `. j) ?, o- B* R
and the minimum Electric Strength Test is 2000 V between live parts and case. Y1 capacitors
, W/ f- k8 B. K$ t' [0 Qare subjected to a 4000 V test.' L# V1 n4 v6 K! R
For Recognized Component FOKY2 capacitors, UL 1283 requires the insulation between live

Additionally, the case is required to be V-2 or less flammable (or equivalent), and meet UL 746C+ w3 m: E2 r1 Y7 X7 l4 ]) N
