Under IEC 60384-14, X1, X2, X3, Y2, and Y3 capacitors are subjected to a minimum Electric( E3 B" R& B+ @' Q' W
Strength Test of 2000 V rms between live parts and case. Y1 capacitors are subjected to a 40008 D! S% I+ }0 K
V test. (Y4 are only subjected to a 900 V test).! `* M9 {- e2 {
For Recognized Component FOWX2 capacitors, UL 1414 now covers X1, Y1 and Y2 capacitors, c3 B$ ?& h1 J [+ [6 j- h
and the minimum Electric Strength Test is 2000 V between live parts and case. Y1 capacitors
; `& f, n ^" ^( e5 }are subjected to a 4000 V test.& y$ y8 N$ w. Y+ E8 B
For Recognized Component FOKY2 capacitors, UL 1283 requires the insulation between live- M% G! \2 m6 N
parts and casing is required to pass a 2Vr+1500V (Vrating =< 250V) electric strength test.
; P" }# V6 G r8 l% u ]Additionally, the case is required to be V-2 or less flammable (or equivalent), and meet UL 746C! B2 i+ w7 F2 f0 T
(or generic) insulation requirements.
