(Y1 capacitors may be accepted as Reinforced insulation also.)

Under IEC 60384-14, X1, X2, X3, Y2, and Y3 capacitors are subjected to a minimum Electric" g: d" S. p3 I" [ @$ d
Strength Test of 2000 V rms between live parts and case. Y1 capacitors are subjected to a 40007 S$ {; |7 t, \4 Z
V test. (Y4 are only subjected to a 900 V test).% \) g w! R; k3 Q( S
For Recognized Component FOWX2 capacitors, UL 1414 now covers X1, Y1 and Y2 capacitors,. F5 \! x, C( B9 y! f: }6 m( L
and the minimum Electric Strength Test is 2000 V between live parts and case. Y1 capacitors
0 K' _/ Z" `- O T% B; A- W. p' Aare subjected to a 4000 V test.
! Y. I4 c% ~" UFor Recognized Component FOKY2 capacitors, UL 1283 requires the insulation between live
9 O4 r) I1 [7 pparts and casing is required to pass a 2Vr+1500V (Vrating =< 250V) electric strength test.
& X3 d" U6 |8 V9 H* `, yAdditionally, the case is required to be V-2 or less flammable (or equivalent), and meet UL 746C3 m/ d: ]# u3 f: p( _" R
