If an appliance consists of a part of class III construction and a detachable power supply/ ?* w5 [: V& K1 a# S; `
part, the complete appliance is classified as a class I appliance or class II appliance in

Add the following new subclause:

In addition, instructions shall also be available in an alternative format such as on a website

The signal words WARNING, CAUTION, DANGER if in the Latin alphabet shall be in; v, |' t- Q8 e
uppercase having a height not less than

– 2,0 mm for portable appliances with a printable surface of less than 10 cm2; and

soaked with petroleum spirit. The petroleum spirit to be used for the test is aliphatic solvent

Compliance is checked by inspection and by manual test.
4 V) `3 }/ D" o' o13 Leakage current and electric strength at operating temperature, n# }0 [( \- d- s/ R/ `3 _
13.2 Replace the first paragraph by the following:* Z4 Y2 q' L6 Q8 T! B6 @
The leakage current is measured by means of the circuit described in Figure 4 of  |1 m  w# b2 p  N
IEC 60990:1999. For class 0I appliances and class I appliances, except parts of class II
& x! y: M' _% b( Vconstruction, C may be replaced by a low impedance ammeter responding to the rated3 _+ _5 C, A) u) l( _
frequency of the appliance.
! u7 R7 n1 a+ m% J19 Abnormal operation
6 U! e* a6 [. n# U19.1 Add the following to the penultimate paragraph of the test specification:, k9 o6 x' H, C+ z$ ^
If the control performs more than one function, only that aspect of the control under& l: @0 n0 t% z, k! K6 O, B
consideration is rendered inoperative. Other functions of the control may continue to operate/ F" L$ J; d* m4 U

19.7 In the third paragraph of the test specification, replace “class P2” by “class S2 or S3”.
/ i" L4 f! D# Q! O$ g19.11.3 Replace the text of the test specification but not the note, by the following.1 E( t4 B* ~4 o) Q
If the appliance incorporates a protective electronic circuit that operates to ensure
2 s; |2 S* L- ~) @& n/ A; jcompliance with Clause 19, the appliance is tested as follows:
+ ]" i0 C# X3 f) K6 g8 k- yA fault as indicated in a) to g) of 19.11.2 shall be incorporated in the protective electronic
/ W6 r9 }# E4 ]+ W  `circuit either before the appliance is started or at any point in time after the appliance is
3 J3 N9 \6 M! z* estarted so that the most unfavourable conditions of the test are applied.
/ i+ d2 Z7 |5 K% AIf the appliance is able to operate after the fault in the protective electronic circuit is
& t. u- f% C2 y: M5 N5 h% kincorporated, then the appliance is further tested as follows.
+ D( G/ l: h* r- B4 m9 r9 qFor appliances for continuous operation the appliance is operated until steady conditions are# p) P% U4 ], l
reached. Then the relevant test of Clause 19 is repeated.9 V1 Q) B. ?  A- O* q9 w  q
Other appliances are operated for one cycle of operation. Then the relevant test of Clause 192 |2 P$ S* T5 f' D' y" E' A
is repeated.: @7 A7 ~$ O3 L2 g6 k$ G' P
19.11.4.2 Replace the test specification but not the note, by the following:4 W* b# F1 e( w8 I* [
The appliance is subjected to radiated fields in accordance with IEC 61000-4-3.
" Q# @+ c' B4 Z" I( gThe frequency ranges tested shall be:
5 H# l2 j% H+ x* t- |- T" E– 80 MHz to 1 000 MHz, test level 3;
4 y) F  t( x/ f+ q% D8 d* S" ]/ g– 1,4 GHz to 2,0 GHz, test level 3;" p3 @' D6 r) w* r7 m5 U$ w5 \
– 2,0 GHz to 2,7 GHz, test level 2.
