Because there were a lot of problems with the temperature rise of the windings of the motor, sometimes the motor was burnt, a proposal was made to reduce the time to 30 s. (see EN 60335-2-2:2003 sub cl 19.101 household water suction appliances). It was accepted because the meaning of the test was to look if the overflow of the water, should give a hazard situation.
