Question:
Should the heating element shown in the photograph, which is commonly used for the defrosting heating element in refrigerators, be considered as a "tubular sheathed or embedded heating element?" Is the test of sub-clause 19.5 applicable?
Decision:
Heating elements insulated by PVC, or other similar cable insulation are not tested in accordance with clause 19.5, which refers to a special insulation that may be affected by humidity conditions.
