3.1 Indication of origin and cable identification$ J; \5 P1 Q- z$ y Y' s. | i3 ^$ o
Cables shall be provided with an indication of the manufacturer, which shall be either an
+ E+ d) C- @) q: S- @identification thread or a repetitive marking of the manufacturer's name or trade-mark.& N+ Q- r4 m2 ~/ Y2 Z$ K0 o
Cables for use at a conductor temperature exceeding 70 °C shall also be marked either with" E- b* Z9 Q* c8 v
the code designation or with the maximum conductor temperature.
+ Q Q' `& f* w7 e+ d6 jMarking may be by printing or by reproduction in relief on or in the insulation or sheath.. T @4 i+ ?1 n
3.1.1 Continuity of marks
5 W/ o5 Z* \1 r* T' g$ c, k6 M' BEach specified mark shall be regarded as continuous if the distance between the end of the
& C" O" c- P. nmark and the beginning of the next identical mark does not exceed+ k6 l' M& g- v& F
– 550 mm if the marking is on the outer sheath of the cable;
- e W$ s( u. L' }/ a% P– 275 mm if the marking is+ f% q% G+ A1 k
a) on the insulation of an unsheathed cable;( g6 E- f$ a) U
b) on the insulation of a sheathed cable;
& b! t E( g9 ^* m) O/ _c) on a tape within a sheathed cable.7 R0 D; ~1 g/ ]; ~' X. p# F
3.2 Durability9 e8 C) J$ ?* t: j X( Y
Printed markings shall be durable. Compliance with this requirement shall be checked by the

The colours of the identification threads shall be easy to recognize or easily made' z, x, {5 z/ }' e; D5 L% H
recognizable, if necessary, by cleaning with petrol or other suitable solvent. |
