You can understand the Type L and R as below:
"R" represents "regular", and most of this kind of products is regular products of UL and don't need to buy the UL labels directly from UL.
"L" means "Label" ,and most of this kind of products needs to directly order and buy the UL labels from UL, such as:

/ N- u* G( J9 A6 |2 gFlexible cords(UL62) need the UL labels(normally, laser markings)
