47 Surface Marking of AWM4 L9 D/ H( r5 i' s; V; t5 C
47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.
4 b- F+ G) r d7 u% T+ r47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:
7 N, S0 o! t! | y+ C4 ^* a; e. ua) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.²
% D8 g9 b% Z% g* w, |, ob) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or; S4 Y* r8 _; S
file number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one) t- U) D$ U6 v- |
location, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific
4 P5 n- B6 H8 k" Y7 C7 Q% x) bmanufacturing location of the AWM.
/ l' m, V: k' i& k& d1 rOther markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in

47.3 For a cable that contains a conductive polymeric shield, the jacket or marker tape shall be marked5 H; W" X3 q1 i, Q
²Conductive Shield,² ²Contains Polymeric Conductive Shield,² or equivalent. |
