47 Surface Marking of AWM; g: d W* n& \' ^( N- t$ M
47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.' _: c8 b. h+ C; ~4 h" ?9 n# E
47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:
1 l7 }3 q1 O. W5 L1 f3 g! \a) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.²
9 h- U% A5 O* V! Q; ub) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or
5 _2 c6 y+ p8 N" Wfile number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one/ J: L, o" O3 e
location, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific
$ A. x- C; \0 d7 cmanufacturing location of the AWM.
]0 C3 ?$ t2 E* J& ~Other markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in: ~8 ^7 H. _, l1 \! D& T$ s
compliance with this requirement when they are not confusing or misleading.
