47 Surface Marking of AWM( I. d3 A1 E& |" } n% `& k
47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.
% W* l+ W, s; Q/ u- ]: T: e47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:
- \: x2 R2 x7 Da) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.²% F0 n$ y# q- |; _6 Q& l/ M
b) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or
5 | j5 U. ~5 W7 Y7 e: Lfile number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one' A2 l8 x0 r! x5 N' P- ?- Z
location, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific6 v9 Q3 M5 I! e* C2 Y" d
manufacturing location of the AWM.
: c! Y& w* T4 a; _Other markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in ?+ N, }7 o3 x& k6 \
compliance with this requirement when they are not confusing or misleading.* `2 f" o$ |& f( d5 S @
47.3 For a cable that contains a conductive polymeric shield, the jacket or marker tape shall be marked; z; R' ~& R1 r( Z2 r1 }
²Conductive Shield,² ²Contains Polymeric Conductive Shield,² or equivalent. |
