18.102 The electrical connections between the resistance material and electrodes of8 J8 o1 h6 |' V; O# D/ H* u
flexible sheet heating elements shall be reliable.+ k) q, T% C4 F7 M) r1 D! a
Compliance is checked by tests that are carried out on two heating units, each having a
7 z" O: W) D% {+ Qlength exceeding 1 m.
+ T8 `: D% ?- P0 d' ^. c" W, O3 TOne heating unit is subjected to the test of 18.102.2 after which it is subjected to the test of
3 q2 d$ {/ x6 _4 ~+ s18.102.5. The other heating unit is subjected to the tests of 18.102.1 to 18.102.5.
9 l3 ~: `+ s8 _$ S+ T aAfter the tests, the voltage drop of the second heating unit, determined at the location where6 [% s V# h8 ]* t' o2 {! @, b
bending is applied during the tests of 18.102.2, shall not exceed 1,5 times the voltage drop
3 O3 q& R% H" w9 s! t" ^+ [that was determined on the first heating unit. In addition, the average voltage drop5 x- k. j' }" a
determined at the other locations of the second heating unit, shall not exceed 1,5 times the

Inspection shall show no contact degradation such as pitting under the electrodes or damage6 w8 F! d. q% E) I% L4 q( H
adjacent to the electrodes.
