− the FUNCTIONAL EARTHING circuit shall be separated from parts at HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES in

• a protectively earthed screen or another protectively earthed conductive part, separated

: ?, o3 k" u7 m0 s− it is permitted to connect the FUNCTIONAL EARTHING circuit to a protective earth terminal or

− wiring terminals to be used only for FUNCTIONAL EARTHING shall not be marked by the1 E/ H7 `, x1 n8 j
symbol (60417-IEC-5017) or by the symbol (60417-IEC-5019), except that, where a3 `- C$ P% H8 Y& u: w; L
wiring terminal is provided on a component (for example, a terminal block) or
& n# O1 l; W& }: |subassembly, the symbol is permitted; and4 t& n" t8 }( `3 {, J6 i7 X/ p; A
NOTE Other markings such as one of the symbols, (IEC 60417-5018 (DB:2002-10)) or

(DB:2002-10)), if appropriate, are permitted.

• there are no requirements other than those in 3.1.9 regarding the termination of this

For equipment having a power supply cord where a conductor with green-and-yellow, L F2 _+ F& _9 n& ^
insulation is used only to provide a FUNCTIONAL EARTHING connection:
) R( k9 z) {' j8 B− the equipment shall not be marked with the symbol , IEC 60417-5172 (2003-02); and
; L* @% q5 m" T5 [1 y7 b− the equipment may be marked with:
# o0 B- v4 U/ o6 F- t( H; M$ G' P• the symbol , IEC 60417-5018 (2011-07); or0 G& l8 D5 B9 d& ]- m
• the symbol , IEC 60417-6092 (2011-10)./ A6 D. ^) l3 s" m# I: _
These symbols shall not be used for CLASS I EQUIPMENT./ O! p0 [1 Y ~! ]& g. I" N8 X6 c
There are no requirements other than those in 3.1.9 regarding the termination of this2 o: z* ^* L, |: z
FUNCTIONAL EARTHING conductor at the equipment end.
