It is very common to use modular connectors (e.g. RJ-11, RJ-12, RJ-45), accessible to the
' f4 H* z3 `7 X1 }" W) t2 [2 ^$ rusers, for a variety of transmission functions, both telecommunication and data.
Unfortunately, RJ-11 modular connectors easily mate with other configurations of modular
- R* S2 q% X7 x/ s6 J- Kconnectors: RJ-12, RJ-45. This sub-clause permits marking only for connectors accessible
to Service Personnel and, on the other hand, relying on configuration as a means of
preventing miss-mating is unrealistic.
: w# W6 `1 k0 E: OHow shall these connectors be tested?.
Decision:
If there is a possibility of miss-mating of modular connectors (e.g. RJ-11, RJ-12 etc.)
accessible for the user, tests have to be made to verify that the SELV limits remain.
If the voltage of the TNV-circuit is known this value is used, otherwise the test generator of
