. l( l. e! _6 z! `0 [3 o2 ^* N7 P ~(1) The LED circuit is verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-2 (*) or IEC/EN
7 m) |7 S& K; S61347-2-11. If the laser emits radiation in the wavelength range from 180 nm to 1
5 q" j3 P& @3 \: e, bmm, the LED shall also be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1 (Safety of laser
6 {- o; H7 h1 n( x% \) u$ Cproducts). Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be used without problems/ ~6 _$ @7 B/ C* c; y( I
for lighting purposes without protection.0 ^% ?+ t# n. T: q a2 J5 z
(2) The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 are carried out as

1 M" Y$ S9 H, U2 F6 D9 J" d(a) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear can be tested
; _* s5 z1 [( s6 Yaccording to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.6 m O- p0 J2 ~; X
(b) For Class III luminaires, the luminaires manufacturer shall provide on
; \/ G. y1 z# ~0 N4 ^, P+ Hthe instructions all the necessary information to supply the LED circuit
# \$ L8 @& e1 C9 u0 |4 s1 T9 h$ ccorrectly or shall inform the Testing Station about the trade mark, the type" A. T0 p5 ~7 {+ C, R+ k6 v
and the technical characteristics of the appropriate control gear. There can
; A2 v# b- p8 }$ o2 U8 rbe three different control gears: the type and the trade mark indicated by the
' X# U; }$ C7 E# g9 j$ f+ w+ Mluminaire manufacturer; an electronic control gear clearly specified on the
6 C0 ?/ l5 i8 B n6 n4 s* u4 ~ pluminaire instructions; a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be
8 H$ O U) G+ o6 tcarried out as required in Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with, W5 r4 y/ R5 W3 \* X% L6 L
