Decision: Yes, provided that:
}$ z% o; |' [. b5 w$ \9 N- the LED circuit shall be verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-13 or IEC/EN8 }% U1 d' n5 ?" q( f, r
61347-2-11 (*) and the LED shall be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1
$ Z3 t0 `$ k d+ ]5 n(Safety of laser products) (§)-(#), if it has laser radiation in the wavelength7 J G8 Y3 u& J
ranging from 180 nm to 1 mm. Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be

- The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 shall be carried8 j9 D0 ^; O4 t# U$ J$ a
out as follows:
( K2 ] `: E7 g5 H1 ^; Wa) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear shall be tested- S# ~7 o" A m$ I; m! d+ d+ y
according to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
) t/ |7 U, L0 j% T/ c* s: L2 z+ vb) For Class III luminaires the manufacturer shall provide the necessary' T4 E3 Y! [5 Q, z; l$ z, [! a
information to power up the LED circuit correctly in the instruction sheet.. f; x0 G8 K' F7 V4 Q5 o! S, E) i
Alternatively, the manufacturer shall inform Testing Station about the/ m' j# n6 L0 a5 _
trade mark, the type and the technical characteristics of the appropriate
7 X" B* @# B1 ocontrol gear to be used. There are three different control gears namely, the
- B) }3 Q# `, _8 c9 ?1 a! L( {type and the trade mark as indicated by the luminaire manufacturer; an
% ^! x) @/ P# w3 F& {electronic control gear clearly specified in the luminaire instruction sheet- J6 h+ f1 J" X4 x2 W
and a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be carried out as required- A" J8 d) V& L8 Z1 i; Z
in Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with the appropriate control9 G6 I) x6 I* U' E% {, l
gear.
