1/ IEC version standard references tests to 60238 clause 15 on three samples (push in type) clause 15.25 m" u* A( W0 p2 Z. c* H1 O- ]2 J

2/ According to IEC version of the test E5 & E10 lampholder are subjected to a free fall test EN 60068-2- l& \! H i& w$ M8 O. C
75. Clause 15.6 suggests a method of test to fix the lampholder to plywood. We have made some8 G7 {+ A- e7 i% l" l. F
different tests by way of experiment in our Laboratory using the spring force impact hammer (better for( a5 {: _# e: ]. [1 C" W( @7 B2 Z
the test engineer) with the lampholder fixed against plywood and again without the& }$ H- z3 T* n& O# Z. k! _
lampholder being fixed at all. We find that when the lampholder is fixed most times the plastic
" c/ J! y% C; P* Y* h; zlampholder cracks which can result in the live contacts becoming loose within the lampholder. What is

ZB the tests don’t apply to E5 but what about push in?0 h. Z9 D& g4 A7 d& C: b" o( m- {

1/ 15.2 is not applicable to push in type lampholder. 20.7.13 takes over.1 E& t/ L' h& m( w+ a
2/ Pendulum hammer applies to E14 and larger lampholders; E5, E10 and similar small push in type
