We seek clarification on the correct method to perform a mechanical impact test for both mains rated

The seems to be a difference between IEC and EN.

2/ According to IEC version of the test E5 & E10 lampholder are subjected to a free fall test EN 60068-2-

different tests by way of experiment in our Laboratory using the spring force impact hammer (better for6 H0 }$ w. L( A+ G; R
the test engineer) with the lampholder fixed against plywood and again without the
: P& S0 [0 {% B3 ~: d. s& I: S Flampholder being fixed at all. We find that when the lampholder is fixed most times the plastic* Y" Y; B7 I: F( v
lampholder cracks which can result in the live contacts becoming loose within the lampholder. What is; P7 J J5 Q$ _
the correct test and lampholder support method to make according to IEC?! T- _* D4 `& j! b+ ^
3/ According to EN the test is again referenced to 60238 but is modified by Annex ZB. Its says in annex: P2 c) r4 e% y* c Z8 h8 [
ZB the tests don’t apply to E5 but what about push in?

2/ Pendulum hammer applies to E14 and larger lampholders; E5, E10 and similar small push in type5 j0 Y4 |9 P6 k
lampholders shall fulfil the tumbling barrel test.
