What are the sample requirements for power cables for rated voltages of 1kV (Um=1.2kV) and 3kV (Um=3.6kV) per
IEC 60502-1?
Decision:
The sample requirements for each type of cables per IEC 60502-1 shall be as follows:
1kV cables:
1 sample of approximately maximum cross-section with copper or aluminium conductor.
1 sample of maximum number of cores and middle cross-section with aluminium or copper conductor.
3kV cables and 1kV cables simultaneously:
1 sample of approximately maximum cross-section with copper or aluminium conductor for rated voltage of 3kV.
1 sample of maximum number of cores and middle cross-section with aluminium or copper conductor for rated voltage of 3kV.
1 sample of maximum number of cores and middle cross-section with aluminium or copper conductor for rated voltage of 1kV.
For cables of the same series type (excluding halogen free cables), armoured cables can cover the un-armoured cables.
