Compliance is checked by the following test, appliances incorporating an appliance inlet being# _4 r6 ?$ J+ W- h5 Y# ^9 r
fitted with an appropriate connector and flexible cord.& W2 G* k9 X; t" ?8 f& ]" t7 C
The appliance is placed in any normal position of use on a plane inclined at an angle of 10° to
- J# K, C* e. V' W/ d& U* ]the horizontal, the supply cord resting on the inclined plane in the most unfavourable
( V. D! u! v: _! o9 u& B( b; @9 e( iposition. However, if part of an appliance comes into contact with the horizontal supporting/ S0 S, D7 i1 L* g$ r2 h
surface when the appliance is tilted through an angle of 10°, the appliance is placed on a
# K# v4 b& ^& @) N C4 T7 A0 |( mhorizontal support and tilted in the most unfavourable direction through an angle of 10°.2 x! @, a' e! ~* P3 M
NOTE 1 The appliance is not connected to the supply mains.+ [' k! f" O7 G
NOTE 2 The test on the horizontal support may be necessary for appliances provided with rollers, castors or feet.$ S" @+ }/ u2 N) ^! V* @" r
NOTE 3 Castors or wheels are blocked to prevent the appliance from rolling.0 {( W! m# ]6 x
Appliances provided with doors are tested with the doors open or closed, whichever is the
; R+ d0 `( }) m0 _/ M! o2 }more unfavourable.
% @. p- K% o# b' U, V. [( p' m' S! WAppliances intended to be filled with liquid by the user in normal use are tested empty or filled
! {+ ^, ^0 F3 {- U. p) Dwith the most unfavourable quantity of water up to the capacity indicated in the instructions.

The test is repeated on appliances with heating elements with the angle of inclination1 c; R* Y' `# {' `6 H
increased to 15°. If the appliance overturns in one or more positions, it is subjected to the' M( l0 L% o: f
tests of clause 11 in each of these overturned positions.
