11.2.1 An appliance intended for use with a detachable power-supply cord shall not be provided with
terminal pins that will accommodate a standard flatiron or appliance plug.
& z- }3 y7 i( S" N/ J11.2.2 If an appliance is provided with pin terminals, the construction of the appliance shall be such that
7 f+ C& h7 U8 j( H+ q) elive parts will not be exposed to unintentional contact both during and after normal placement of the
intended female fitting on the pins.

a) A straight edge nominally 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) thick placed in any position, across and in
contact with edges of the pin terminal opening without the fitting cannot be made to contact any
