Decision: Yes, provided that:$ q* F! a) ]7 s3 z0 \' @2 e
- the LED circuit shall be verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-13 or IEC/EN
2 @6 Q* H, [9 V! o8 _61347-2-11 (*) and the LED shall be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1# P) W8 s, b$ w
(Safety of laser products) (§)-(#), if it has laser radiation in the wavelength0 h. z3 j: r* l6 h! d
ranging from 180 nm to 1 mm. Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be9 h( M1 C* C$ w
used without problems for lighting purposes without protection.
! B; d3 @1 s9 s/ U9 a- The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 shall be carried
: N0 p" _$ w" M/ nout as follows:
6 b1 _- u2 m& ga) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear shall be tested
3 Q7 C! D$ S# z3 o6 D5 Faccording to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
1 h4 w: F$ a0 v! tb) For Class III luminaires the manufacturer shall provide the necessary: ^- D# c9 Q! w6 G( j8 `( e3 I2 R
information to power up the LED circuit correctly in the instruction sheet.
/ g5 F! ^0 @3 a, H9 k& d6 A9 tAlternatively, the manufacturer shall inform Testing Station about the
; G: h$ Y4 ^$ j8 o: Z0 w+ O5 Atrade mark, the type and the technical characteristics of the appropriate
5 Y- h! N2 `( v$ Bcontrol gear to be used. There are three different control gears namely, the
6 m3 ? {9 s/ w3 O( }type and the trade mark as indicated by the luminaire manufacturer; an; ~2 j' s9 h+ s7 j; o
electronic control gear clearly specified in the luminaire instruction sheet
9 M. m! ^( T, X4 Sand a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be carried out as required' M) L# i" |- y* n8 R w
in Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with the appropriate control, L3 |" z& f# n# T/ h# ]: R' y
