Home Depot Recalls Patio Umbrellas Due to Risk of Impact Injury' g# J1 z! D% h! U7 C8 J
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. 7 C! y8 e0 ^ E7 `1 A, ^
Name of Product: Offset Patio Umbrellas4 C& B( ]7 g$ C, _1 K0 C) `# Q
Units: About 60
1 A y) i' R5 C1 G1 h0 h, Z; \Importer: The Home Depot, of Atlanta, Ga.
+ B2 L- n+ ~( e2 B2 D1 fHazard: The patio umbrella and its pole could tip over and strike consumers if the umbrella抯 collar or sleeve is not removed prior to closing the umbrella, posing a risk of impact injury to consumers.
; A/ V! T8 y1 g0 y6 ?Incidents/Injuries: Home Depot has received one report of a recalled patio umbrella tipping over and breaking. No injuries have been reported.% W ]# c% j' p: ~. c
Description: The patio umbrellas are beige with a brown offset pole. They stand 11 feet tall. The base is a brown cross about 18 inches long.
( G4 [! W2 V" T# ]" O M) }Sold at: The Home Depot stores nationwide from January 2009 through February 2009 for about $250.5 I4 { h" v: n2 ]# M

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled patio umbrellas and return them to any Home Depot store for a full refund.
