47 Surface Marking of AWM! i" @% E) b: u8 R8 L) E
47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.
5 p* C* K7 l2 C8 g8 w/ R- d( J47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:
- E- F7 _3 y6 z, e1 q" z# G5 a6 Q7 Ja) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.². j- N. s; n2 q% E: q; Q' A i, @
b) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or
5 i& T: m$ p3 p* ~file number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one% A6 M2 L. W. `4 I3 {
location, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific
3 V8 B1 h2 v4 X* ^9 W9 J$ Bmanufacturing location of the AWM.$ }- B$ { W9 C
Other markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in( S4 G& @& j+ P5 j8 v
compliance with this requirement when they are not confusing or misleading.
