For the purpose of harmonic current limitation, equipment is classified as follows:

– balanced three-phase equipment;8 V+ l5 i1 i, L& \ q
– household appliances, excluding equipment identified as class D;3 Z& ^, N3 Y& N0 |5 e
– tools, excluding portable tools;: @6 J: V) |* ?6 @5 _" U
– dimmers for incandescent lamps;
) c- ]4 B1 [1 v7 N" u' p, t– audio equipment.
2 v: i( p! q8 b/ O h/ Z* lEquipment not specified in one of the three other classes shall be considered as class A

NOTE 1 Equipment that can be shown to have a significant effect on the supply system may be reclassified in a
6 q3 q& x: p" u3 afuture edition of the standard. Factors to be taken into account include:* Y7 C7 p, s& F' w
– number of pieces of equipment in use;
4 e0 E* ?- b6 x– duration of use;, K8 B1 L, Y5 q8 y& g/ K
– simultaneity of use;

9 _3 W; X) l. N( C– harmonic spectrum, including phase.

Class B:
