(1) The LED circuit is verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-2 (*) or IEC/EN
5 A4 G8 V# _' p61347-2-11. If the laser emits radiation in the wavelength range from 180 nm to 1
- j- ~, F8 L% R* hmm, the LED shall also be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1 (Safety of laser+ P! I! e' v9 I& B, x% b
products). Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be used without problems; k. C7 P/ k5 b; m3 j) W! Y7 M
for lighting purposes without protection.. w) ]% x: s) S7 P% @
(2) The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 are carried out as1 V, \. D; e- y/ K
follows:
4 d- n1 ^: U) T: Q) l+ {8 h(a) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear can be tested" d& H+ p; O9 W( V1 f. Q
according to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
3 h& p" P/ \! [4 M(b) For Class III luminaires, the luminaires manufacturer shall provide on6 A( w- t- d" T/ O% c
the instructions all the necessary information to supply the LED circuit! D/ H# Z6 g7 c6 E; u4 y
correctly or shall inform the Testing Station about the trade mark, the type
( Z+ }& g: z3 }8 i2 n$ i8 }; tand the technical characteristics of the appropriate control gear. There can
! R! `# }# W% r" M" @8 X, zbe three different control gears: the type and the trade mark indicated by the
% B' @. b4 b. g7 ]' `* U' gluminaire manufacturer; an electronic control gear clearly specified on the
. a/ y( U I6 t7 I8 ?* pluminaire instructions; a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be

(*) When IEC/EN 61347-2-13 will be published, it will takes over IEC/EN# J. o8 c3 T( M5 o6 r# o
