This standard covers the following types of dry-type transformers, power supplies, including0 l( u) x/ G- K- M
switch mode power supplies, and reactors, the windings of which may be encapsulated or

! i* G3 j5 t% p– for transformers, there is no change in frequency .However, transformers (e.g. constant voltage
5 C' F+ @# L2 |, x8 t$ n; utransformers) may have an internal resonance frequency not exceeding 30 kHz;
" y: _9 g$ Q/ E8 ^– for power supplies, the internal operational frequency and waveform are different from the supply frequency9 T% I' }9 Q! ~9 {$ ~: J
and waveform, and the internal operational frequency does not exceed 500 Hz (see definition 3.1.19);! |9 j" @. x3 M/ v9 Y& e
– for switch mode power supplies, the internal operational frequency and waveform are different from the- H4 i$ K' G1 L. \; K9 s
supply frequency and waveform and the internal operational frequency exceeds 500 Hz and does not exceed

distribution networks and with the following characteristics:

NOTE 3 Normally, the transformers of type b) are intended to be associated with the equipment to provide

electric shock may be provided or completed by other features of the equipment, such as the body. Parts of output

However, tw -marking of transformers is optional.
0 e7 i; U) \" SThis standard also applies to transformers, power supplies, switch mode power supplies,& u2 i0 {9 k* w3 \
and reactors incorporating electronic circuits.
3 X! T9 X$ a# }This standard does not apply to external circuits and their components intended to be
) g$ `! j# H8 S7 ?( z% Vconnected to the input and output terminals or socket-outlets of the transformers, power6 B) I" q- v( A- z4 t
supplies and switch mode power supplies, and reactors.
7 L7 K# g; O4 p  k: S: v2 D3 mNOTE 6 Attention is drawn to the following:
  d' n2 _, }$ T- P" i– for transformers intended to be used in vehicles, on board ships, and aircraft, additional requirements (from2 u" T7 x; i3 W
other applicable standards, National Rules, etc...) may be necessary;: r- h6 T8 @4 L% V+ U- v0 Z- d
– measures to protect the enclosure and the components inside the enclosure against external influences like

– the different conditions for transportation, storage, and operation of the transformers should also be
