specific requirements are formulated.
( }! ?" k4 `0 _4 C6 l0 R% w# @4.1 Category I: apparatus containing no electronic control circuitry.
0 k( L. a1 P$ |; OExamples: motor operated appliances, lighting toys, track sets without electronic control units,2 S2 q6 F+ q- a; A$ h
tools, heating appliances, UV and IR radiators and apparatus containing components such as; e7 e1 O2 v1 V
electromechanical switches and thermostats.
% m) ?" f& k; c( I2 \9 P A8 oElectric circuits consisting of passive components (such as radio interference suppression
7 V7 x3 e5 O7 d/ |9 Rcapacitors or inductors, mains transformers and mains frequency rectifiers) are not considered4 f! d# i5 B0 ] q
to be electronic control circuitry.1 i' ^- V3 P8 B4 O$ F
4.2 Category II: transformer toys, dual supply toys, mains powered motor operated appliances,6 E! T$ f, z+ a A
tools, heating appliances and similar electric apparatus (for example – UV radiators, IR radiators; U' a8 L) v( B/ p6 y4 H' [
and microwave ovens) containing electronic control circuitry with no internal clock frequency or
$ }) b; x c1 s7 {9 r: M6 O3 C' \oscillator frequency higher than 15 MHz.
$ L( W; D8 u) l1 TNOTE For toys, examples include educational computers, organs, track sets with electronic control units.
8 w( {( H* e% o8 x4.3 Category III: battery powered apparatus (with built-in batteries or external batteries),! F3 N: S: l& z. c6 p
which in normal use is not connected to the mains, containing an electronic control circuitry" O2 q) i4 [6 E
with no internal clock frequency or oscillator frequency higher than 15 MHz.
2 v( H" _1 {3 L9 A7 wThis category includes apparatus provided with rechargeable batteries which can be charged2 I* e, }# {. N
by connecting the apparatus to the mains power. However, this apparatus shall also be tested
/ W& v4 O. Q; ~/ ?* P: [7 G6 p" _as an apparatus in category II while it is connected to the mains network.
