You can understand the Type L and R as below:
2 F. s, {, r" o. s" C& B. l6 d: b8 k6 R# z"R" represents "regular", and most of this kind of products is regular products of UL and don't need to buy the UL labels directly from UL.
"L" means "Label" ,and most of this kind of products needs to directly order and buy the UL labels from UL, such as:
Appliance wiring material(UL758) needs the UL labels(normally blue)
( X) g) \+ \; fFlexible cords(UL62) need the UL labels(normally, laser markings)
Cord sets and power supply cords(UL817), need UL labels(normally laser markings)
. Q$ z, U4 e! ]6 n8 J0 L( ~Wiring Harnesses(UL764) need UL labels( normally orange)...
