Decision:
4 S) @- g0 M5 lThe requirements of the IEC 60601:1988 Ed.2 should be used with regard to creepage distances and
isolation distances through thickness.
$ i* |' r8 Q; EExplanatory notes:
This issue will be put forward to TC 66 and TC62 to deal with this specific problem. In the meantime a
9 b( x0 _1 D& F0 K. Dtemperature cycling test according to IEC 60950 can be used for reference. Base for this test are the
7 l# e- }% e- W' A) stemperatures retrieved during normal condition tests calculated/adjusted to an ambient of 40 °C. It is
. q4 S6 _/ }: t* ^4 Simportant that the influence of the temperature of other components shall be taken into consideration.
The minimum thickness through insulation can be taken as from IEC 60950, being 0,4 mm.
