SUMMARY: The China GB 4943.1:201X (Chinese standard that is equivalent to IEC 60950-1, 2nd Edition with Chinese national differences) will become effective on March 16, 2012 for all products under the scope of IEC 60950-1:2005 that are applied with the CCC mark. f! ?" s6 D. K$ l
! |0 l# L/ `- H: s
IMPACT: All CCC certifications will need to be updated by March 16, 2012. It is recommended that all submittals made after December 1, 2011 will be to this new standard.

1). 1.4.5 - Tolerances on supply voltage: Tolerances are + 10% and - 10% instead of + 6% and - 10% as given in IEC60950-1. The China mains voltage is 220 V. Therefore, the test voltages under consideration are 198 to 242 V.

7 p, U) c% c$ j5 E; l" iThis will not have an impact if a product is marked with an input voltage range such as 200-240 V (servers are marked like this). This will have an impact a product is marked with a single input voltage such as 230 V or 115/230 V (desk top units are marked 115/230 V). In this case the heating test of 4.5 of IEC 60950-1 may need to be repeated at 198 V.

5 ~" R& i7 `: G! z9 i+ Q4). Altitude and clearances: For China, the clearances ( through air electrical spacings ) must be suitable for 5000 m. Dell currently designs equipment for 3048 m ( 10,000 feet ). Therefore, (unless clearances for 5000 m are used) the following symbol and instructions must be provided. All Dell equipment with CCC marking is impacted unless we redesign the equipment for 5000 m.8 |: R1 H. q! t F9 k& H

NOTE – For example, for 230 V equipment the clearance required for basic insulation is 2 mm. Dell requires this clearance to be 2.28 mm. For China and 5000 m 2.96 mm would be the require clearance distance.
