WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Speedy Children's Hooded Zipper Jackets and Kids Hooded Pullover Jackets7 Z S3 p2 y: I+ f9 q

Distributor: Winterbee Inc. d.b.a. Speedy, of Los Angeles, Calif.: O5 {/ D# h; {8 f5 N
Hazard: The jackets have a drawstring through the hood, which can pose a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued drawstring guidelines (pdf) to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets or sweatshirts.4 d" ]8 c% ]/ d: O0 o

Description: This recall involves Speedy children抯 hooded zipper jackets and hooded pullover jackets with drawstrings. The jackets were sold in various colors (black, white, charcoal gray, heather gray, burgundy, green, royal blue, navy blue, baby blue, red, pink, brown and in sizes S-XXL. 揝peedy?can be found on a label located on the inside of the collar.

$ G2 f1 Z) y8 }Remedy: Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to either the place of purchase or to Speedy for a full refund.
