, Q+ n; R, b6 P8 M: p2 }The objective of this test is to simulate a phenomenon where a small electrical short or arc (caused by a number of factors) will burn the surface of an insulating material. This leaves a carbon deposit (or track) that creates a path for electricity. Repeated arcing and tracking leads to unintended current paths, high temperatures, and can potentially lead to ignition.
