primary function is task or ambient illumination. These products are provided with a flexible cord and an

1.2 These requirements also cover dedicated portable luminaires that employ a connector other than an3 c: n/ r) ?2 f+ ^: P3 ^' ] `

a nominal 120-volt, 15- or 20-ampere branch circuit, and intended for use in accordance with the National

1.6 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or different( h( }* |8 |3 k% S$ V
from those covered by the requirements in this standard, and that involves a risk of fire or of electric shock3 W" a5 n; W( S# V9 f+ P* i
or injury to persons shall be evaluated using appropriate additional component and end-product X+ k, S8 j' G" e6 H
