UL858于2009年2月20日更新，具体更新章节为增加82.0节，主要要求为关于制造商提供除纸版说明书以外的电子载体的说明书．

82.0.2 (New) The instructions and warning statements required by Sections 82 through 83 shall be
. p7 y/ v# A+ l  B7 x+ l# Eprovided as printed material and shall be repeated in any electronic media instructions provided. All other instructions may be provided in electronic read-only media format only, such as CD-ROM.

; @1 q. j0 H  ~! h) eUL 858 specifies that instructions shall be provided with the appliance. In the past, these instructions have typically been provided in hard copy printed format. However, for a variety of reasons, manufacturers are looking at other means to provide this important information. Instructions required by UL 858 must be readily available to the user. The addition of Section 82.0 outlines the requirements regarding the use of electronic media, identifies those instructions that must be provided as hard copy printed instructions, and requires the printed instructions indicate how to obtain a copy of the material contained in the electronic media via mail, phone and/or company website.
