41 Test for Limited-Voltage/Current Circuit Transformers
9 d( G# e" g, @4 P41.1 A transformer intended to power a limited-voltage/current circuit shall be tested as described in 41.2.
: o2 T* `( J4 V2 x' d! E41.2 The maximum volt-ampere output capacity of the secondary winding is to be determined as follows:
* w, q) ]; S8 ^+ h9 y# eAt room temperature, the primary winding of the transformer is to be connected as intended in the
equipment and the secondary winding in question is to be connected to a variable resistance load. When
% u8 g  F1 N) C* f. oa fixed-series impedance or regulator circuit is relied upon to limit the output, that impedance or regulator
  R  k  ]* `1 d4 K0 n9 V7 L4 vcircuit is to be included in the circuit during the test. A multiple-winding transformer is to have one
secondary winding tested with all other secondary windings open-circuited, and is to be allowed to cool to
+ s# f( f3 H/ A# s  w0 V$ u1 uroom temperature again before another winding is tested. A primary winding is to be connected to a

7 w3 S, K* T  h8 @! D, W* ishort-circuit condition in 2-1/2 minutes. For each step or increment in the resistance, the product of the
- U/ M- Z( v! {; M; G  U2 W- Routput voltage and current is to be recorded, plotted, and run as a smooth curve. The peak value obtained

secondary windings supply interconnected circuits, the sum of the outputs of the windings in question shall
not exceed the values specified in Table 27.1.
