– ordinary tough rubber sheathed cord (code designation 60245 IEC 53);
! g' _: Q: O8 z7 L# T {# a" x" B– flat twin tinsel cord (code designation 60227 IEC 41), if allowed in the relevant part 2;
7 q6 l2 S' @- u4 p/ V5 z; V– light polyvinyl chloride sheathed cord (code designation 60227 IEC 52), for appliances+ N0 ~! R# J: s7 B" v3 ]
having a mass not exceeding 3 kg;5 J! w6 ]* ?. }/ T4 _' H, b- E
– ordinary polyvinyl chloride sheathed cord (code designation 60227 IEC 53), for appliances
2 D: Y; E4 z# k; N8 C' e* e: T) G5 ehaving a mass exceeding 3 kg.
) {7 C* Q5 A4 Z5 O5 IWhen supply cords having high flexibility are used, they shall not be lighter than
1 z8 |% i' H! E# B4 p$ S– rubber insulated and sheathed cord (code designation 60245 IEC 86);
. @5 C/ i- C F9 d4 N0 g/ _3 \: `; L– rubber insulated, crosslinked PVC sheathed cord (code designation 60245 IEC 87);3 [& q; B% N* A7 ~- o- i& v; l
– crosslinked PVC insulated and sheathed cord (code designation 60245 IEC 88).
- L; p0 L, t3 g4 K2 eNOTE A lower number in the code designation of the cord in IEC 60227 or IEC 60245 indicates a lighter type.& C ?* U- W, T* v! H
NOTE Z1 The harmonized code designations corresponding to the IEC cord types are given in Annex ZD.
. D7 ^5 G9 Y1 kPolyvinyl chloride sheathed cords shall not be used for appliances if the temperature rise of% { n1 g- T- A# p
external metal parts exceeds 75 K during the test of clause 11. However, they may be used if
/ s5 c' j9 F7 I8 F2 Y+ P3 i– the appliance is constructed so that the supply cord is not likely to touch such metal parts- f7 v) [ ^. F9 p: C
in normal use;( w' r* Y$ ~- }+ H: t) [/ s
– the supply cord is appropriate for higher temperatures. In this case, type Y attachment- [) n) D! g- S4 j& Z
or type Z attachment shall be used.
