6.1 Add the following to the requirement as a new second paragraph:' E) }5 {% V+ q) a
If an appliance consists of a part of class III construction and a detachable power supply/ G1 Q+ Q* W8 j0 K: y) I+ M+ Z2 Y
part, the complete appliance is classified as a class I appliance or class II appliance in* A5 F8 W; t% k; U& @0 E( d
accordance with the classification applicable to its detachable power supply part.& C# D" M1 n, R
7 Marking and instructions/ |: E! l4 O) d8 |& ]# V9 |; z
7.1 Replace the last dashed item in the first paragraph by the following:
1 r  }7 b& ^8 f  F) K– symbol IEC 60417-5180 (2003-02), for class III appliances. This marking is not
2 F  ?) `1 {) e& U+ ?: n6 Onecessary for appliances operated only by batteries (primary batteries or secondary, p  D7 h1 D: u! `8 M% F2 w1 [2 ~2 m  ~
batteries recharged outside of the appliance) or appliances powered by rechargeable) L/ p1 `: q) F+ `6 V' z+ |
batteries recharged in the appliance.
5 D* P* R  u+ ^  R6 }& _Add the following new subclause:
% L% a2 r7 K5 x' k: c) Q7.12.9 For each language, the instructions specified in 7.12 and from 7.12.1 to 7.12.8 shall" j9 b" P. a! e2 w& w* h. z5 a5 f
appear together before any other instructions supplied with the appliance. Alternatively, these4 Q* j1 {8 s$ t% n  o  O
instructions may be supplied with the appliance separately from any functional use booklet.. ?2 M" o6 e. k7 J
They may follow the description of the appliance that identifies parts, or follow the
! X! {$ U; s3 m% T8 Kdrawings/sketches common to the languages of the instructions.1 ?- K$ E, v- z! L4 [4 O
In addition, instructions shall also be available in an alternative format such as on a website. c+ v4 [2 ~4 P: J$ S% |2 m' H$ o
or on request from the user in a format such as a DVD.
/ _0 o$ k3 X' K; y+ N! D+ KCompliance is checked by inspection., }. w. W# B6 ?
7.14 Add the following as new second paragraph to the requirement:
0 H$ `0 R- b, X0 E( Y1 f2 \The signal words WARNING, CAUTION, DANGER if in the Latin alphabet shall be in
3 T6 y8 z3 U. Y% y% @3 Luppercase having a height not less than
" I$ s" }. w: J& w, m5 ~– 3,5 mm for appliances normally used on the floor;
& c5 x* d% Z' @% Z+ Y5 t– 2,0 mm for portable appliances with a printable surface of less than 10 cm2; and
) ^: u* V/ z  ?. K+ Z– 3,0 mm for other appliances.
' {$ I/ d4 f# @, X. Z  p: ~) ^NOTE A height of 3,5 mm is similar to Arial 14 pt, 3,0 mm is similar to 12 pt Arial and 2,0 mm is similar to 8 pt
" G  \- v* n3 T4 J" a& nArial. Other typefaces might differ in the pt value.6 z: E- m. l( q; n+ @9 O. H
Uppercase letter of the text explaining the signal word shall be no smaller than 1,6 mm, with
9 W6 {* z3 E6 @3 D- Q& Bother letters according to the font size of the uppercase letter.7 m  I7 s- ~# C
Countries that do not use the Latin alphabet need to specify the minimum size of the script to8 H" Z$ s$ W0 ^# z1 H
be used taking into account what is specified for the Latin alphabet.

Replace the first paragraph of the test specification by the following:6 b8 s9 i& Q/ q+ ~
Compliance is checked by inspection, by measurement and by rubbing the marking by hand& t9 S. x. o1 L3 Y; G! M
for 15 s with a piece of cloth soaked with water and again for 15 s with a piece of cloth) V1 ~$ h: G) m3 X5 T
soaked with petroleum spirit. The petroleum spirit to be used for the test is aliphatic solvent
6 H) n( }, ]8 \. P, h- z8 y* Ihexane.
* w# s/ x1 C- m2 w: [8 Protection against access to live parts$ t% ]6 ]5 C( e1 U. T1 c" ?( U
8.1.3 Replace the note by the following.8 v( i' ?. V; E
If a single switching action is obtained by a switching device, the switching device shall  f# L, |! x! I0 B0 t
provide full disconnection and the clearances for full disconnection specified in 20.1.5.3 of
: Z- u4 x$ u% k! t" n3 pIEC 61058-1:2000 shall be obtained from Table 22 of IEC 61058-1:2000 using the next higher: r5 y: [) U2 r4 B( A- V0 b
step for rated impulse withstand voltage.
6 x0 x: u4 h9 e+ |, o( sFor appliances provided with a supply cord and without a switching device in their supply% \6 Q0 ]1 a$ l
circuit, a single switching action may be obtained by the withdrawal of the plug from a socketoutlet.
9 q5 ^, F3 u2 z+ LCompliance is checked by inspection and by manual test.
! t, _% K. j$ H: f9 P. R13 Leakage current and electric strength at operating temperature4 f& h0 I, p* z( d& @% b- c' K
13.2 Replace the first paragraph by the following:
- C' g3 M6 h! R( ZThe leakage current is measured by means of the circuit described in Figure 4 of, S' _9 L5 T, Z! e- o* L; F
IEC 60990:1999. For class 0I appliances and class I appliances, except parts of class II
& O0 h. n6 b4 X4 ~construction, C may be replaced by a low impedance ammeter responding to the rated2 D/ R3 ?7 i; T# @0 j( Y
frequency of the appliance.
5 S* v* b1 }9 q6 }7 F19 Abnormal operation# \1 k. q+ ?: m% V
19.1 Add the following to the penultimate paragraph of the test specification:
" L( d% L' b0 q9 _, V4 ?4 g% e: u8 C' XIf the control performs more than one function, only that aspect of the control under
  @6 d% Z; d! e+ q& E* }5 Wconsideration is rendered inoperative. Other functions of the control may continue to operate
- J! f' e: W6 S# _( w  C  hnormally.6 `/ S) t( M+ w( s( T) h: E
19.7 In the third paragraph of the test specification, replace “class P2” by “class S2 or S3”.
( C% o2 _" K( B& D! P19.11.3 Replace the text of the test specification but not the note, by the following.3 N$ d# N) M! G. [" ~& g
If the appliance incorporates a protective electronic circuit that operates to ensure
  x! C7 i( E9 L9 u! ]! ~compliance with Clause 19, the appliance is tested as follows:7 \6 v# P/ h: M
A fault as indicated in a) to g) of 19.11.2 shall be incorporated in the protective electronic7 D+ y. F" k" m2 k, \' T' d8 `
circuit either before the appliance is started or at any point in time after the appliance is
" ?2 }9 _0 V) G' C8 p. Y+ P5 Mstarted so that the most unfavourable conditions of the test are applied.
$ G# w2 y2 H: i/ `) J; dIf the appliance is able to operate after the fault in the protective electronic circuit is# X8 L7 s. O6 X2 B
incorporated, then the appliance is further tested as follows.
5 r" m3 m! T/ n% q0 J1 XFor appliances for continuous operation the appliance is operated until steady conditions are
) l! K  T; t4 Preached. Then the relevant test of Clause 19 is repeated.1 c9 L! H, s8 B, E1 T; a
Other appliances are operated for one cycle of operation. Then the relevant test of Clause 19/ V5 }* y  R/ X1 i
is repeated." R4 M; r! ], f  C8 {
19.11.4.2 Replace the test specification but not the note, by the following:7 A& ^/ h$ N* g) `4 T7 _: |4 E
The appliance is subjected to radiated fields in accordance with IEC 61000-4-3.
9 b# q$ o& m4 S" q4 w& k7 H. eThe frequency ranges tested shall be:# {4 ^  b- u3 q/ R. s
– 80 MHz to 1 000 MHz, test level 3;0 _6 q& l0 c7 @4 f! J6 S5 m
– 1,4 GHz to 2,0 GHz, test level 3;
1 u/ E4 w; L/ Y  V. m– 2,0 GHz to 2,7 GHz, test level 2.
