During the test of protection against electric shock for luminaires, in some cases a live metal part7 ^6 W8 ]! w. ~( [# V6 I/ t# d: K
projected from lamp cap E 27 can be accessible with the standard test finger. When the compliance of the$ O( A: n# d8 W2 y
used lamp and the built-in lampholder were checked with the relevant requirements of IEC 60432-13 ]0 ^2 d4 f/ Z% x q3 ~. i9 B/ v8 ^
and IEC 60238, they were found as satisfied. But the live part accessibility within the luminaire was1 v" }2 `- W( _; S
caused by such a metal part projected from the lamp cap which is acceptable according to the sub clause
! B4 M' m1 e. V+ G4 r( n2.7.3 of IEC 60432-1. “On Edison screw caps any projection from the cap shell shall not project more+ s2 P$ A; f+ q2 V9 _
than 3 mm from the surface of the cap. See figure 1”. In this case there can easily come into existence a5 \. W" x5 j% O/ K2 g' B
cap and holder combination where the protection against electric shock cannot be maintained within the6 g( X e" A# r

Can this luminaire construction be accepted?
