Normative References

60335-1(ed.4)

Question:
What requirements apply to telecommunication interface circuits installed in household appliances
(e.g.: Modem) as far as the insulation and distances between these circuits and other parts are
concerned?
Decision:
The standard IEC 62151/2000 shall be used in the evaluation of interface unit (e.g. Modem) fitted in the
appliances in the scope of IEC 60335-1 series.
In alternative, a modem unit already tested and certified according to IEC 60950 should be accepted
taking into account the more severe requirements of the product standard, if any.
