Question:
Is it possible to simplify the making and breaking capacity and normal operation tests in a switch series rated 10 AX / 250 V with the same contacts and common mechanism?
Rationale:
The switch series consists of the following pattern numbers:
1, 1(push-button), 2, 1+1, 5, 6+1, 6/2, 6, 6+6, and 7 A common testing program facilitates the issue/recognition process of CB Certificates.
Decision:
It is acceptable to test the following pattern numbers:
- 1 or 1+1 (*): clauses 18 and 19;
- 1 (push-button): clause 19.1;
- 2: clauses 18 and 19;
- 6+6: clauses 18 and 19;
- 7: clauses 18 and 19;
(*) choosing the most unfavourable construction.
