Question: Many IEC/EN standards during the resistance to rusting test, prescribe the use of trichlorethane – “All grease is removed from the parts to be tested by immersion in trichlorethane for 10 min.”. This substance is banned in the EU and its production is forbidden in Europe. What can the Laboratories do during the IEC/EN standards changing?
- J/ b) q- R, QDecision: For the time being apply the following text: “The surface of the specimens is carefully cleaned; varnish, grease and finger prints being removed by petroleum spirit or the like”.
