6 Classification

necessary for appliances operated only by batteries (primary batteries or secondary

The signal words WARNING, CAUTION, DANGER if in the Latin alphabet shall be in( ~' _% G6 p6 F; j5 S4 n: U: X

Uppercase letter of the text explaining the signal word shall be no smaller than 1,6 mm, with

for 15 s with a piece of cloth soaked with water and again for 15 s with a piece of cloth
. q; Q- G( l- m1 A8 C) Isoaked with petroleum spirit. The petroleum spirit to be used for the test is aliphatic solvent

8.1.3 Replace the note by the following.; n! d! Y  Z  m
If a single switching action is obtained by a switching device, the switching device shall- Y8 [' x% ^2 y1 b4 M  P* @
provide full disconnection and the clearances for full disconnection specified in 20.1.5.3 of) h  {* y* c. s7 F! s+ f
IEC 61058-1:2000 shall be obtained from Table 22 of IEC 61058-1:2000 using the next higher& c% G1 @+ u& {
step for rated impulse withstand voltage.
7 Y7 w, }1 ]# h# x6 h8 z5 e3 hFor appliances provided with a supply cord and without a switching device in their supply4 s3 D4 c9 t* e+ h6 r
circuit, a single switching action may be obtained by the withdrawal of the plug from a socketoutlet.

% I7 s2 h6 G9 y2 s3 o13 Leakage current and electric strength at operating temperature% o, [$ [) L1 {- Y8 B
13.2 Replace the first paragraph by the following:+ o5 l0 L* j2 ], M3 F) h5 K
The leakage current is measured by means of the circuit described in Figure 4 of
8 u  K2 m( a$ j6 K1 Q% UIEC 60990:1999. For class 0I appliances and class I appliances, except parts of class II
+ D. F/ X+ }5 k% e  R" x6 c# Sconstruction, C may be replaced by a low impedance ammeter responding to the rated
3 \: \- e" q8 wfrequency of the appliance.) g( [1 w2 A  \/ n
19 Abnormal operation
& L+ K" K) j: d* ^19.1 Add the following to the penultimate paragraph of the test specification:
$ i- r) J( Q) Q# z" O: OIf the control performs more than one function, only that aspect of the control under
; ~  v, X) u1 K% Q/ ~- N8 P. @+ p/ Cconsideration is rendered inoperative. Other functions of the control may continue to operate
' B/ ]7 e0 O7 p, u2 X1 Hnormally.
8 W3 l3 `$ J- x9 O5 s19.7 In the third paragraph of the test specification, replace “class P2” by “class S2 or S3”.' s/ }0 J' {! O0 ~: b
19.11.3 Replace the text of the test specification but not the note, by the following." }' W' p/ I$ z: m% N
If the appliance incorporates a protective electronic circuit that operates to ensure
8 p! q6 C# o6 zcompliance with Clause 19, the appliance is tested as follows:8 E0 h! z% |8 U
A fault as indicated in a) to g) of 19.11.2 shall be incorporated in the protective electronic
& q% n/ n( s/ V4 Pcircuit either before the appliance is started or at any point in time after the appliance is2 y5 ]* K' T5 Z7 m
started so that the most unfavourable conditions of the test are applied.6 i9 x9 W( A, h
If the appliance is able to operate after the fault in the protective electronic circuit is
: Y9 n) o9 A* }7 E6 d6 _incorporated, then the appliance is further tested as follows.2 ~8 f* c5 v+ K5 D9 z* x
For appliances for continuous operation the appliance is operated until steady conditions are* b8 A8 F/ L, l0 Z* F
reached. Then the relevant test of Clause 19 is repeated.
& b0 u0 f+ Q6 K( TOther appliances are operated for one cycle of operation. Then the relevant test of Clause 19
% h7 H, H: y1 O) q- {/ F# Gis repeated.
7 Y4 b* l; t* O3 ^3 o19.11.4.2 Replace the test specification but not the note, by the following:: n) j; D$ t& g# t
The appliance is subjected to radiated fields in accordance with IEC 61000-4-3.6 i! B1 q* ?; v% G4 m0 V# |
The frequency ranges tested shall be:+ l/ U1 I' L- x: W$ H
– 80 MHz to 1 000 MHz, test level 3;
" P% V1 X3 I1 J0 c5 Z( \+ b– 1,4 GHz to 2,0 GHz, test level 3;
6 q- r5 k# `% H. t7 {– 2,0 GHz to 2,7 GHz, test level 2.
