47 Surface Marking of AWM/ K5 Y8 `9 V8 W0 x
47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.
& w4 W8 f/ D+ O2 @" r: R9 ]47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:5 i6 X% b; I7 ]; C
a) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.²% m+ P4 l, U9 g9 _8 q
b) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or
3 }: |/ d6 F3 l+ |" n) O$ t, ^6 sfile number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one% e" V/ S F% r" ^2 I; B- R5 k
location, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific
! ]8 L; j2 H% t5 C' ]# N! ~manufacturing location of the AWM.& T$ }0 b8 I3 H1 y7 N) I
Other markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in; {2 ^* A9 @9 t7 f+ |: w
compliance with this requirement when they are not confusing or misleading.' r# B+ O3 \' B9 b6 n7 n
47.3 For a cable that contains a conductive polymeric shield, the jacket or marker tape shall be marked1 ~) ]9 |9 ]9 M8 G( o2 W" n
²Conductive Shield,² ²Contains Polymeric Conductive Shield,² or equivalent. |
