47 Surface Marking of AWM
8 Y' ?0 Y" R9 [47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.
- X" O0 |& i# w! D" n5 q47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:
. n, o2 e( a4 w( ~' U6 ^- wa) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.²
) \3 p) o$ u( t* T' H1 qb) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or% G. o1 g& `4 E- d- S
file number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one
2 F1 W: f; G7 l6 olocation, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific3 q* W; G3 ]0 l; p: J* S
manufacturing location of the AWM.& Z* a/ x$ u8 h! q
Other markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in/ m5 c5 d; ?+ P/ |$ Z3 h
compliance with this requirement when they are not confusing or misleading.
: h9 \2 N3 x Q9 Q6 b5 l! A* @) w47.3 For a cable that contains a conductive polymeric shield, the jacket or marker tape shall be marked' l. ~/ \& @7 P2 D
²Conductive Shield,² ²Contains Polymeric Conductive Shield,² or equivalent. |
