Question
What are the sample requirements for power cables for rated voltages from 6kV (Um=7.2kV) up to
30kV (Um=36kV) per IEC 60502-2?
Decision
The sample requirements for each type of cables per IEC 60502-2 shall be as follows:
1 sample of three cores with the maximum cross-section and the highest rated voltage；
1 sample of three cores with the cross-section in the range of 95mm2～630mm2；
If the scope of application includes copper conductor and aluminum conductor simultaneously, above
2 samples shall be 1 sample with copper conductor and 1 sample with aluminum conductor.
In addition, for those cables with or without armor, armored cables can cover the un-armored cables.
Different type of armor shall be regards as different type.
