Compliance is checked by the following test. The plug-ballast/transformer or mains socketoutlet-
0 _; }! g9 Y! v; `mounted luminaire is inserted, as in normal use, into a fixed socket-outlet pivoted about% d' x8 U Y. ^8 n, E) H9 W, P
a horizontal axis through the centre lines of the contact tubes at a distance of 8 mm behind the1 E. E0 G0 }: n. J( s
engagement face of the socket-outlet.) j2 ^' b2 p. v8 j( U( u
The additional torque which has to be applied to the socket-outlet to maintain the engagement
* v |/ ]3 ] P7 D3 `face in the vertical plane shall not exceed 0,25 Nm.2 }8 D" p- L8 _) Y
For adjustable mains socket-outlet-mounted luminaires, the total torque transmitted to the2 n' z! u; J, s8 }' Z
socket-outlet during adjustment shall not exceed 0,5 Nm.. Z" T6 y2 s. N% Q4 ^
The socket-outlet used for the test shall have the earth contact (if any) removed unless the" C% P% B* J( w6 Y0 k
socket has shuttered pin receptacles that are uncovered by the action of inserting the earth- F' p" e5 n5 U: B; l% j7 z7 \
pin.
