Decision:
3 S$ B1 y3 K$ A1 \6 ]' o0 C. g) M- zBallast for tubular fluorescent lamps and discharge lamps. In general it is necessary to carry out the tests
on all the types of ballasts with the following exceptions:
9 h' o& ^8 [! l- resistance to heat, fire and tracking - it is possible to test only one type of ballast if the
materials used are identical;
. f# w* D: C1 X, Z! s( N- thermal endurance of winding, (clause 13 IEC 61347-2-8/2-9) – for ballasts of the same
6 M5 y; Q$ J+ p& w2 `$ p. ^' Vseries is sufficient to carry out the test on samples of minimum rated wattages and on the
8 c8 f4 d- E" D5 H( `# ]: h: M& X2 |maximum one. All the intermediate wattages are considered extensions.
The ballasts are considered of the same series if:
7 l, M. R$ M  t& b8 d- they are covered by the same standard, (e.g. IEC 61347-2-8/2-9);
- they are of the same construction. It means that they have laminations or cores with identical
& h2 K  o2 b$ n7 ]  ^2 ~4 Jpattern range, with the same insulating material;
8 H* J" i! c3 q- they have an equal assembly technology;
- they have the same "tw" value. In some cases of ballasts for discharge lamps, for different
; N; \" t( y0 O( p3 {, x/ |types of lamps, (e.g. Hg, HPS, MH) may be of the same series.
