标题: China establishes oral history display for Nanjing Massacre survivors
An oral history display dedicated to the Nanjing Massacre survivors has been established at the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall in the capital of east China's Jiangsu Province to mark Tomb-sweeping Day.
A large number of people on Wednesday paid homage to the victims of the Nanjing Massacre perpetrated by Japanese invading troops in 1937. Zhang Chuye, a 90-year-old survivor of the Massacre, made a special trip from the United States, and brought with him a high school history textbook from New Jersey, in the United States, which records the events of the Nanjing Massacre.
Zhang Chuye, Nanjing Massacre survivor, said, "Since the Japanese government is revising its textbooks, we must display the truth. The Japanese government is misleading future generations by revising textbooks. If the younger Japanese generations don't know the truth, they will again make the mistakes of their former generation."

As there are now only about 200 survivors still alive, mostly aged over 80, it is extremely urgent to preserve the living witnesses' oral testimony.
Zhu Chenshan, curator of Nanjing Massacre survivor, said, "The survivors whould be 85 years old now if they were just 10 years old when the Nanjing Massacre happened. So we must take emergency measures to conduct the survey, which shows a responsibility for history."
The Nanjing Massacre, also know as the Rape of Nanjing, was the mass murder and rape commited by invading Japanese soldiers that occurred in 1937. Three-hundred thousand Chinese civilians and disarmed soldiers were murdered by the Japanese Army. Widespread rape and looting also occurred.
