Decision: Yes, provided that:) g/ T2 K/ S! g1 x
(1) The LED circuit is verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-2 (*) or IEC/EN
4 o+ `4 {' V" @. H; ~4 i; Y61347-2-11. If the laser emits radiation in the wavelength range from 180 nm to 1" m  x8 f' E; p5 n. g8 [. a- W
mm, the LED shall also be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1 (Safety of laser
: d8 V+ G7 s3 Aproducts). Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be used without problems! ~4 P. U! q7 d% _: u
for lighting purposes without protection.
( {) B& ^! `/ m, j( t, ?; N(2) The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 are carried out as

(a) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear can be tested& o& ^2 ^. W- q4 t# W% i
according to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
+ V8 L+ ^2 z/ q4 i, F+ f(b) For Class III luminaires, the luminaires manufacturer shall provide on

correctly or shall inform the Testing Station about the trade mark, the type
) _+ r. f# R  @  z! tand the technical characteristics of the appropriate control gear. There can% T% L* P4 g  f  ~2 B. J# q; X
be three different control gears: the type and the trade mark indicated by the. N* t: m( c7 Y  {7 h! u
luminaire manufacturer; an electronic control gear clearly specified on the
, q3 e5 h+ \. K; h$ }1 E+ \' W' sluminaire instructions; a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be
