Decision: Yes, provided that:
' v* B8 B: D3 W9 P* r- the LED circuit shall be verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-13 or IEC/EN! K$ I  C3 N9 {1 ^
61347-2-11 (*) and the LED shall be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1
; `( z2 z7 F# S4 C(Safety of laser products) (§)-(#), if it has laser radiation in the wavelength2 o# c' O: S7 o' [( g
ranging from 180 nm to 1 mm. Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be/ ?, b  i4 ]6 u) W
used without problems for lighting purposes without protection.
& S# ~  \% ]  _7 u& k- The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 shall be carried
/ p& c! U' p) V- z/ _1 Xout as follows:; B, [3 ~# G6 o
a) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear shall be tested  P* V  P1 }) \7 A7 c" \
according to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.7 m# m9 K# H4 J# g& e
b) For Class III luminaires the manufacturer shall provide the necessary
; x. s' }. z. Z5 X, ginformation to power up the LED circuit correctly in the instruction sheet.
$ s: j2 B8 f. ^5 ~# e) b# IAlternatively, the manufacturer shall inform Testing Station about the
* e4 Z* r* |1 F* g7 ~+ w' vtrade mark, the type and the technical characteristics of the appropriate4 R$ z  e# O/ z
control gear to be used. There are three different control gears namely, the
2 j' W- q5 L0 u2 N) e1 ~2 n# ?type and the trade mark as indicated by the luminaire manufacturer; an- n' \2 K' p0 n1 O0 k( G7 u
electronic control gear clearly specified in the luminaire instruction sheet1 U& U! L4 h8 c
and a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be carried out as required
) `; l& k7 Z2 D! O$ M# win Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with the appropriate control
