a struck match, held

in his fingers, that he will let

burn till the threshold of flesh is threatened.

It will burn, and he will stare--

the meeting of the sulphur and the air--

and the dark will be dispelled

briefly. Briefly he will forget

his anger, briefly light be

led into his darksomewhere

soul or self or heart or cleft or bare

closet. But say he burns and he will deny it;

say he loves and he will mortify it.

短暂地；一场打击赛，

在他的手指间进行，他将要持续

燃烧直到肉体的门槛受到威胁——

它将燃烧，他将凝视——

琉璜与大气的会合——

黑暗将会被驱散

短暂地。短暂地他将忘掉

他的愤怒，短暂地光线将会

进入他的黯淡的地方

灵魂或自我或内心或缝隙或空旷的

小秘室。但说他燃烧，他会否认；

说他爱，他会克制。
